In a way this whole week is dedicated to Cait, who made sure I saw the Hobbit/Goblin post that started it all, and also sent me this discussion:

Which reminded me of the offhand comment (in The Hobbit IIRC) that a Took once married a "fairy wife", so I drew this. For all her demureness she still runs about the woods on her tiny bald feet, singing like a lark.

Remember Willow Wode's story that got into it a little?
And I am to this day not sure if for Tolkien, fairy=elf, or if there was another whole category of Speaking Peoples that were fairies! That were more hobbit sized!

Date: 2022-07-13 04:21 am (UTC)My personal opinion *drumroll* is that she is a Little Person Elf. So she's hobbit-sized and, since Elves can be a bit condescending, more independent from her taller kin, maybe a little lonely, until she meets a race of speaking people her size.
