Beautiful. And nice to see in this framing. Which might sound like "Yeah, because Marvel superhero world is So Regressive!" which I don't mean, and which would be really ignorant to think. I mean, because it's a communication framing that will work for new sets of people, or so I think.

Even MLK said "I may not make it there with you"--this isn't a one-and-done fight, by any means, but one for the long haul, so that subsequent generations can know a better world than the one we're living in. And every little incremental bit we can win, helps.

Thanks for reposting that. The fragility of hard-won legislative victories is hard to take, and federal judicial victories more so. That the work of a lifetime (or several lifetimes) can be critically weakened or reversed with just one legislative vote or court decision seems so wrong.

What I take from recent events is that we can't afford to rest on our laurels and take our rights for granted, or rely on a single person, demographic or strategy to save us. We also can't afford to give up and not do what we can to make things better. And also that the long game is worth playing if 50 years of concerted, steady effort on multiple levels can lead to what we're seeing today. *hugs*
