I am a little bit sad every year as I buy halloween candy because I know absolutely no one would let their kids take or eat my homemade candy. And then just now I was preparing for E's birthday, collecting images and getting ready to design some stickers for her, but she requested storebought.

*facepalms and laughs at myself*

Oh, use favorite fan art and tell her it's storebought.

Huh, I had no idea she likes the Ninja Turtles! I would have thought Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

I shall browse Tumblr.

Well, think of it this way: their loss, our gain! :P

I think I can safely speak for everyone here when I say we all enjoy the candy and stickers you create ;)

I stopped cooking for Sheeyun and Chun Woo about a week ago because it's stupid to cook for people who don't like my cooking.

That makes complete sense, especially as I seem to recall that you taught Chun Woo how to cook for himself.

When the custom of trick-or-treating first caught on in the US, the "treats" were usually homemade things like cookies of various sorts, confections like caramel apples, or even just apples and other fruits. Ironically, when commercially made and packaged candies first became available, a lot of people felt that homemade treats were much safer than industrial products made with sinister chemicals like coal tar dyes and glucose syrup.

Although rumors of dangerously adulterated trick-or-treat goodies surface every few years, they have all turned out to be bogus in one way or another. In spite of this, people now think of wrapped and sealed candies as "safe", and homemade treats as either unsanitary or deliberately filled with poison and razor blades.

I suspect that the reason E wants store-bought stickers is because, first, yours are too familiar to her, and second, other kids only recognize the copyrighted official designs from the mass media :-(

She doesn't know what she's missing.

Well, more for the people who appreciate original art!

(The Halloween thing is sad. :-( )

It is sad that homemade treats which are healthier, tastier, and more economical are now seen with suspicion.
