I feel better than I had all weekend. This is just a fact and needs no discussion.
I asked three people for apples and now have four bags of apples. I'm going to use one to make applesauce for TL, but/and even so that leaves me with lots of apples for munching and happiness. *beams*
WD was extra wonderful to me tonight. When he got to my house I was almost catatonic, and he encouraged me gently to get up and dressed, without being at all impatient with me, and took me to see Thor: Ragnarok.
WOOT. That was FUN on many levels. I am in love with Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie. Hela is truly a goddess (deities aren't always good). Odin seems to realize he's a shitty father, Bruce Banner is brave and wonderful, and there was only the barest required minimum of Tony Stark. And I have never seen a catfight done as a dogfight before, BWEE. And I didn't even hate [cameo]!
I really enjoyed it. It wasn't subtle but it was thoughtful and even surprisingly intelligent, like its lead character.
I'm not writing in the MCU anymore but if I were I'd be really tempted to write identity porn about Thor, Bruce Banner, and the Hulk (I mean, the Grandmaster called Thor 'seductive' and he kept doing the "sun's going down" Pretty Person Calms The Hulk bit, which made me giggle), and about just how Loki got himself into the Grandmaster's good graces. And, more seriously, about being the last Valkyrie, what that must be like. I want to cross her over and let her vacation on Themiscyra, though I think Queen Hippolyta would make her ease off on the drinking.
Also, before the movie we saw the trailer for Black Panther, which made me tear up in joy, and for New Mutants, which looks like a horror movie (I used to read that comic in my preteens), and the new Jumanji movie, which might be with seeing if it has more good bits than are in the trailer. Plus The Last Jedi (but I already saw that one), a bunch of forgettabilities, and no Justice League trailer, alas.
Anyway. I should get up and go do a few things before going to sleep. And then find some pictures of Valkyrie.
