I snagged this from Gloss and Aphrodite_Mine. ASk me questions?
1) First time you encoutered canon femslash
2) First times you encountered femslash shipping
3) Is femslash the main part of your fandom life?
4) Have you already started a canon just because you knew there would be femslash shipping opportunities?
5) Canon, subtext, or make-everything-work-by-yourself ships?
6) A femslash ship you feel like you're alone in shipping
7) Did you see a change in femslash fandom since the time you started fandom?
8) Some femslash poly ships? What are your opinions about f/f/m poly?
9) Do you feel like shipping femslash is different from shipping slash, het or other? How?
10) Favourites tropes for femslash ships?
11) Fluff, humor, angst, or smut?
12) Are there some m/m or m/f ships that you love genderswapped as f/f?
13) Did you already write original femslash? If so, what was it about? If not, what would it be about if you did? If you would never, why?
14) Favorite femslash ship of all times
15) A guilty pleasure
16) A fandom where I have so many femslash ships
17) A femslash pairing I like on principle without even being in the fandom
18) A character I headcanon as lesbian/wlw without having big ships with her
19) Rec day! Canon or fics, as long as it's femslash! Or even shippable!
20) Do you like your femslash homophobia-free?
21) Thoughts about lesbian tragedy and bad endings?
22) Thoughts about (purely fictional!) lesbian unhealthy relationships?
23) Historical, fantasy or sci-fi? (or, if none of the above, what and why?)
24) A time where a canon really surprised you, in a good (and femslash) way
25) A time where a canon really disappointed you (in a femslash or lack of femslash way)
26) What do you love the most, and what do you love the least, about femslash fans?
27) Very last time you encountered canon femslash. Was it a surprise or were you looking for it?
28) Now answer the important question about femslash I've forgotten to ask.

Not yet as I recall, but if I watch _Hawkeye_ it will be for the Kate/Yelena .
7) Did you see a change in femslash fandom since the time you started fandom?
A tiny sprig has grown into a slender tree.

Date: 2022-02-12 08:15 pm (UTC)Goodness. I really love wholesome femslash but I also really love darkfic in femslash. Women have darkness to be explored.
28) Now answer the important question about femslash I've forgotten to ask.
Does genderswap femslash count as femslash? I've seen interesting discussions on the topic. I meant to write a fem!Kirk/fem!Mirrorverse!McCoy story and ask the question in the notes.
Also, why I like femslash: I like stories about sex & romantic relationships, any way I can get them. :)

Date: 2022-02-12 08:18 pm (UTC)"There are no good books or bad books, just well written or badly written" The shadow of the 20th Century US moral requirement that lesbian relationships end badly does hang over any tragic story, but a sufficiently well written story can convey that the tragedy is in the story's shape and not fulfilling an external expectation.

I wasn't paying attention to _Hawkeye_ until I saw gifsets of Kate and Yelena together.

Date: 2022-02-12 10:33 pm (UTC)I don't really think it is very different writing femslash vs slash, which I think is because I'm bi. At base we're writing a sexual relationship between people. The plumbing is the next level up. Which used to frustrate me, when I'd htink "why can't people see this obvious femslash when they see this carefully-constructed slash?"

Date: 2022-02-12 10:36 pm (UTC)The seeing is actually the part I was most curious about, and not automatically ruling out the slash potential of characters based on gender makes sense to me.

Date: 2022-02-13 02:30 am (UTC)8 some femslash poly ships. The fandom that got me into femslash was
LOTR (a lot of people liked LOTR because it has few female characters. About as many people set out to use fanfic to expand the female characters. I'm in the latter group.) I and a couple of friends wave headcanoned that Merry and Pippin's wives, Diamond and Estella, were girlfriends and that they all formed a foursome.
How do I feel about f/f/m? Love it! I want more opportunities to write it! I STILL wish SO HARD that I had managed to finish the Peggy Carter/Angie Martinelli/Daniel Sousa story OR the Peggy Carter/Violet the Nurse/Daniel Sousa story. Wah!
