My Halloween costume this year was three LED lights (zipper pulls) and a Moon hair clip, arranged to 'float' in my hair. (I wore a star-covered shirt with it. I meant to add a scarf covered it GITD stars but they wouldn't adhere.)
My favorite aspect of a really popular and well-recieved costume (bee) is its effect on me: when I stepped into dark places, light glimmered around me from the stars in my hair.

Date: 2017-11-01 09:51 am (UTC)I always try to wear some sort of costume for handing out trick-or-treat treats, although I usually just put something together out of clothes I already have (keeping in mind that my "everyday" wardrobe includes things like shiny silver leggings and metallic-purple tops). This year I wore a dress from Holy Clothing (the only dress I own, and it's actually a ritual garment), ankle length with big bell sleeves, and a shiny purple witch's hat I've owned for decades, with my "crown of lights", which I made last year, as a hatband. (I love wearing that crown, for exactly the reason you loved your GITD ornamentation: in the dark, I can see the light around me!) Oh, and I was wearing a few necklaces, also usually worn in rituals - "hide in plain sight", much? :-)
