such a great vid, great work from them all, and the dune references in the song still make me giggle

A lot of people don't know this but Walken originally studied dance before moving to acting. He tries to work a little dance routine into each one of his film appearances.

Walken was also on the yacht the night Natalie Wood drowned. (Walken and Wood had been filming the movie Brainstorm together when she died.) A lot of people, especially Natalie Wood's sister Lana, have made a lot of hay out of it--claiming that Walken and Wood were having an affair, or that Robert Wagner supposedly killed Natalie Wood and that Walken is helping to cover up the death.

I’ve always thought it more likely that Walken and Robert Wagner were having the affair, and Natalie Wood jumped off the boat in shock after she found them together. Secret gay romances were a lot more secret back in those days.

As I said in my reply to MM, below, there appears to be at least some evidence for this theory. It's not just Slash Goggles.

Is it really slashfic if there's evidence that it really happened?

what would I watch to be able to characterize Robert Wagner accurately?

I have no idea. He's been in a ton of stuff, as befits someone with a career that's nearly three quarters of a century long and still going. I suppose if you wanted to focus on an alleged Walken/Wagner affair you'd probably want to watch some of his movies from the 1970s rather than his later TV appearances.

I've loved that vid for a long time. It's just so unexpected that he's a dancer as well, James Cagney and Buddy Ebsen known by most Americans as Grandpa on the Beverly Hillbillies. Yes, that's bonus James Stewart attempting to tap.

When musicals became big box office the studios tried to get pretty much all of their stars singing and dancing... or standing still while someone danced around them. Jimmy actually gets to sing and dance to a frightful little number called "Love me, Love My Pekingese." You can also see Joan Crawford sing and dance and even Clark Gable, if you can stand it! :D

You can always slide them in as far as I'm concerned, Cyd too!

I'm not a big fan of Uptown Funk but this vid makes me smile:

I totally get why people write about Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly)/Cosmo Brown (Donald O'Connor from Singin' the Rain but I've always wondered why no one gets into all those Gene Kelly/Frank Sinatra character pairings - Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Anchors Aweigh and On the Town where Kelly is the uber-confident Casanova and Sinatra is the naive innocent.

I love that vid!

I remember my parents showing me "New York, New York" when I were a wee one and I was thinking fuzzily something like "This does not seem completely 100% heterosexual?" except I couldn't even phrase it in those terms then.

"Walk without rhythm and it won't attract the worm"

Unless, of course, you WANT to attract a worm, hook your way up its side and ride it. I seem to recall there were devices (thumpers?) that would actually attract a worm so it could be ridden.

Lyrics? I'll take your word for that, since I can't find any lyrics. Most of the audio is just background rap / noise of some sort.

It's not possible to walk without rhythm. Every time a group of soldiers is marching to some place, when they come to a bridge they have to stop marching in rhythm, or they could set up a harmonic vibration that will rip the bridge apart. But everybody just sort of drifts back into the marching cadence, unless something interferes.
