Are you on Twitter by any chance? Every so often I see (or, more rarely, think up) a pun that a couple of my friends would enjoy, and I lob it over the fence as a Twitter dm. If you would enjoy same, I would happily connect with you there and spread out the, uh, pun splash zone, as it were.
I have a LinkedIn profile, too, but I don't participate on the site much; I just consider it a low-overhead way to keep in touch with people from previous workplaces.
I was on Facebook for maybe a year and a half, and got off of it in 2018 when about 2/3 of my feed was outrage at the latest thing Trump or some other Republican(s) did. It's bad for my mental health to spend time around people who are that angry that much of the time...even if I agree with them.
I had a Twitter account for about a month; I never really managed to figure out what I was supposed to post to it or how to use it. Ditto Instagram.
Re FB: I got off it perhaps at that time, perhaps a bit earlier, for that reason plus two others: I perceive that site as actively evil in multiple kind of important-to-me ways, and I got less and less happy with myself for feeding and sustaining it (after all, we weren't the customers, we were the product); and the people I know and like are by and large... not likable there, and I wanted to keep liking them.
Yup, there's also FB's abuse of consumer data and privacy, that was another reason I ditched them. It is my sincere belief that the world is a worse place because Facebook exists. IG, BTW, is owned by FB, if you didn't know.
I agree with your sincere belief and I hold it pretty strongly. I didn't like the kind of person I would have had to be to hold that sincere belief and stay for personal convenience.
Right, I've heard that about IG, which is probably one of the reasons I just never bother going there. :)
I've loved comparisons like this since I was a child, and there wasn't even animation for it then. Comparisons of the planets (as known at whatever time) with moon(s) and sun and so on, remind me that Earth is *local*, and special. I suppose reading a steady diet of SF helped too...
No, it's a dwarf planet along with Ceres [and kinda sorta the Moon].
The thing is there are a couple different things we call planets. Pluto, Earth, and Jupiter are all different 'species' of planets. Pluto's
species got renamed to dwarf planets, is all.

And that's about it.
