n.b -- the lady in 6 is holding that sword by the blade. I actually covered and redrew it with her hands on the hilt, but it looked wrong, so I peeled the sticker off and left her holding it like that. I don't know why she's holding it by the blade but she was very firm with me that that is the correct picture.

#7 is interesting. The lady being talked to looks a little worried. And yet, the other woman's enthusiasm made it OK.

(Also, someone's having a birthday?)

Hee hee, the sword lady's all "holding the blade, don't care!"

Oh no, crooked is for cake! :'D I kinda get the feeling that the girl carrying it is soon falling forwards too, as she's on her tippy toes, suspended in diagonal motion, perilously fascinated by the candle flame

Heh. I've seen a few chefs discussing times one should hold a knife by the blade - certain kinds of fine chopping, I think. Which means she's either got a mountain of onions, or there's likely to be tears for an entirely different reason.

I'm not sure what the woman in #5 is doing, but she's having a good time doing it!

#6 might be Lady Macbeth, although there's a bit of Ophelia there as well - sort of "classically" mad.

In #7, one woman is happy and excited about something, but the other woman draws back in dismay and alarm at the story. There's something vaguely Jane Eyre-ish about the scene.

And in #8, a young teenage girl happily (and hopefully) presents a tumbledown birthday cake she's made with more love than skill - will the recipient accept it in the spirit it was given?

Thank you! I'm sure that cake tastes a whole lot better than it looks, and the recipient will love it :-)

She's holding it by the high flat and that's safe- no edged blade that high on a sword.

Trust me, I'm a military historian! :o)

These are cute. I like that they're all faced at different angles and poses. And heee! your interpretation of "crooked"! Uh-oh... O_O

Yes, that should be fine, since all of the source material has been manually drawn by you. :)

Re: #7

Girl 1: "Oh, sister! Derrick has invited me to go out with him on Friday night!"

Sister: "Derrick? The greasy boy with the skull tattooed on his neck and the perpetual sneer? Oh, my."

*I* have a tattoo on my neck. :) But it is a spray of purple forget-me-nots. Not a skull.

I got the tattoo as I was supposed to be an attendant at a friend's wedding--we were going to get these matching tattoos in honor of the wedding. They were going to be married at the Rennaisance Festival in medieval costumes. But something happened so that the wedding could not take place there--so they eloped instead, and I baby sat their dogs. I think the venue was double booked or something like that. It was very disappointing.

I still have the tattoo, but they divorced several years ago and are now married to different people. I loved both of these friends, and now we never see each other. I miss them and the crazy fun we used to have.

Oh, I want to know who's made lady #6 be so elegantly thoughtful about who she's going to cut. : )

A crooked cake, that's a fun interpretation!
