Having found myself working customer service, this is what my power would be:

Once a week (as defined 12:00AM Sunday to 11:59PM Saturday) I can reduce someone to a small pile of ashes.

Working customer service as a day job, but being a writer by inclination (I've achieved semi-pro, at the moment)... uh crud. This could lend itself to Obernewtyn-style coersion, which is a major DNW at this end, so I'm going to draw on the fun side of current employment, extend the storytelling/positive interaction side of things, and say I get the ability to experience fleeting impressions of a person's surroundings, biased toward what's important to them. That ups the storytelling/writerly aspects without influencing people unethically.

Alternately, I get the ability to nudge people (not force, but suggest) into using their critical thinking/reading skills, argh!
