Isn't peace -- it's creation! Thank you Jonathan Larsen. I tend to hate to leave my journal on such a grumpy negative note. So here's a drawing I'm unlikely to color in -- a mashup between a Vcictorian dress and a Minoan one.
The "Victorian Era" lasted for 64 years, and fashions changed a number of times. There were several intervals in which very low necklines were in style (although everything from the shoulders down to the toes had to be kept covered). And also, especially towards the end of Queen Victoria's reign, the ridiculous hoop skirts, crinolines, and bustles went out of fashion, and a more natural bell-shaped skirt became popular. Put together a breast-baring decolletage and a bell skirt (flounces optional - flounces never go completely out of style ), and you've got a Victorian Minoan! :-)
Even a Minoan hairstyle looks a little bit like the Victorian styles with masses of artfully arranged ringlets.
There was a camp on-playa along our route of march between "home" and the porta-potties that did a Broadway sing-along one afternoon; they were singing "La Vie Boheme" as gridlore and I walked over, and we stopped on our way back in time to join them for "Seasons of Love."
LaVieBoheme is one of my favorite songs in the world. It represents so
much of what I've dreamed of, tried to find, found and lost in my artistic
and fannish endeavors.
