Trump gives credence to false, racist Harris conspiracy.
Kamala Harris has her citizenship the exact same way I do -- born in the US to parents who later became naturalized US Citizens -- so you can imagine how I feel about this.
Also I find it notable that liberal criticisms of her have consisted of statements such as "she jailed parents for their kids' school truancy", "she had transgender inmates misgendered when assigning them to prisons, which is wrong, bigoted, and actively dangerous," and other policies, whereas this is what counts as mainstream conservative criticism:
Harris has been accused of reaching her position in politics due to sexual relationships, a sexist claim pushed on social media and elsewhere — including an article in The American Spectator, a conservative online magazine, that referred to her as “the mattress.” On Wednesday, Eric Trump, the president’s son, liked a tweet that referred to her as “whorendous.”
This country makes me very, very tired sometimes. OTOH, I suppose at least the flagrant misogynoir of these attacks makes me more supportive of her? ahahah *sigh*
In related news, Newsweek can sit and spin. I kind of wish I had a subscription to cancel.

potofsoup's beautiful comic about voting.

Date: 2020-08-18 03:20 am (UTC)I'm just afraid we'll see critics referring to Harris as "A Hindu [Negro]" - someone's bound to come up with the argument that only a Christian can be President. Remember the hue and cry about how electing the Catholic John F. Kennedy meant that the US would be controlled from the Vatican. (And many people object to Sanders because he is Jewish, and his personal style is abrasive-wiseass-from-Brooklyn.)
I find it impossible to believe that Harris used sex to advance her career. It's obvious that her intelligence is what made it possible for her to achieve all the things she's known for.
