I have to get up in the morning. This coming morning there will be a rally on Boston Common in the name of 'free speech', of the sort demonstrated last weekend in Charlottesville by people preaching bigotry and calling for atrocities. There will also be a counter-rally. I really hope people show up to the countr-rally, so I intend to. I'm going to meet up with TL and WD, and Mr. RedTed has promised bail money just in case.

I kept leaking commentary about it all night tonight. My coworkers mostly rolled their eyes at me, except for S, who is worried enough to exchange phone numbers with me. That was very sweet of her.

I've picked out my outfit, I've filled a water bottle, I know not to bring my bags. I should really go to sleep already. I have to get up in the morning.

Thank you for being there to show resistance to bigotry. I live in the sticks where no one protests publically but plenty of people voice support for the white power assholes in the privacy of their own homes. I fight it verbally every chance I get.

I don't live in the sticks, I live near Boston. I'm a conservative-appearing, kinda paunchy, middle-aged, white, cis-male. It's disturbing what some people who look like me think is safe to say around me. And yeah, I don't stand for that either.
