So I saw a post about Theater of War's The Oedipus Project on an Oscar Isaac fan blg, and told TL, who decided to sign up for it. I didn't know Oscar Isaac was going to play Oedipus himself, and I was BLOWN AWAY BY EVERYONE IN THE CAST OMG THAT WAS AMAZEBALLS.

TL, as a cultured and sensible citizen of society, is watching the discussion afterwards which relates this 2500 year old play to our current time of plague and uncertainty. I, meanwhile, am rummaging the Oscar Isaac tag on Tumblr and wallowing in all my fellow fangirls' flailing.

Thank you again for the link. I really enjoyed the performance and the post-performance Thoughts. I also managed to get Jack to watch it with me.

I saw Oscar Isaac's remarkable Hamlet at the Public. Isaac had just lost his mother; I'd lost my father the year before, and hadn't even cried. Hamlet came out on stage and sat at the foot of his father's bier, head bowed with the weight of grief. Tears poured down my face.

You know, that bit where his camera was off I wondered if he was supposed to be onstage....then he came on camera again with the black make-up over his eyes and I was like, "ohhhhhhhhhh! got it!" And so now I'm just imagining him A C T I N G while smudging kohl or whatever over his eyelids and cheeks...

You are most welcome! I'm very glad you liked it.

The mermaids' tails in this painting are unusual, too ;)
