Ugh, this is how I feel watching cooking scenes and I'm not even a professional. SO MUCH INACCURACY. What bugs me more than anything else is the way cooking is treated as an incomprehensible set of random actions. The scene from The Lunchbox, which was actual legible cooking, set the ridiculousness of all the others into high relief.

This clip is the best thing on YouTube and I am so horrified by so much of what they watched. I continue to be okay with the lack of movies in my life.

To be fair on the Chinese cut noodles, while that was a little exaggerated, I've seen shows with the experts in that technique doing almost that. (they usually weren't quite so far away.) And, again, the wok technique looked correct, just exaggerated in a 'look, he's a martial arts master' kind of way.

True, true. I meant to put in a caveat about how that scene was the only other even slightly realistic one, but I was sleepy.

Yeah. Sorry. I've been reading, but not really having anything to say that other people hadn't already said by the time I got there.

Still alive. Going a bit stir crazy, since I had a cold which pretty much meant being alone in my room for the last week. (Because I really need to not get my housemate sick.) We're keeping the teens home from school, though we also expect the local schools will be shut down any day now. (We're not in the counties where the schools shutting down is mandatory, but we're just south of one of them and the county has been following things like the not letting more than 250 people be in a space together about 2-3 days behind the three main ones.)
