I think I like the second background more, FWIW. Also, I assume Jolene is the tall one with red hair and green eyes. But who is the smaller one? A hobbit, judging by her feet, maybe? I forget if hobbits have pointy ears. She has o/~ stars, stars, stars on her dress. ~\o

The smaller one is Jolene's hobbit companion, who is singing the song. (Why hobbit? Because cute.)

Dolly Parton would probably giggle so hard she'd lose several sequins off her costume. (She has quite a sense of humor. Some interviewer asked her if "dumb blonde" jokes bothered her, and she said, "No, because I ain't dumb, and I ain't blonde..."

Dolly Parton is made of AWESOME and I really should write her a fan letter. She does so many good things with her fame and she really seems to be geniunely good hearted. And there's a place in the world for being really femme; it always bugged me how being feminine was seen as being antiwoman, and I like how she gently pushes back against that.

As far as anyone has ever determined, Dolly is a sweet-natured, good-hearted girl from a poor family, and because she knows what it's like to be in need, she's ready to help out however she can. She says she appears the way she does on stage because her fans expect - a big country music star has to dress the part, all fancied up in rhinestones and sequins and big hats. She doesn't want to disappoint her fans. And it's also fun, like a little girl playing dress-up.

She's also one hell of a good songwriter, a pretty decent guitar and banjo picker, a talented singer, and one of the best businesswomen in the country.
