Has nothing to do with cars, and does have quite a few bare breasts.
Did you know that the Japanese name "Subaru" is given to the same star cluster which the Greeks named "Pleiades"?
So I saw this picture of the star cluster, guest starring Venus:

And I had a vision. And, considering assorted assortments, I did fairly well at translating that vision into an image.

I wasn't quite satisfied, though, so I also made this version:

I like this one, I think. And I hope the astronomer friend I drew it for likes it too.

Date: 2019-09-18 03:59 am (UTC)I think they are both lovely and it's so cool--to me who knows nothing about art like things--that in the first one, the eye (my eye at least) is drawn more to the stars and in the second one it's the girls. Maybe because the first one has more stars? They're brighter? IDK... but I like them both... for different reasons because of it. ♥♥

Date: 2019-09-18 04:59 am (UTC)This is lovely and joyful! I like the black background of the second, but I love the stars and especially the star shawl of the top figure in the first--makes me think of Varda.
And the academic paper title for this piece is "Subaru: Minoans in SPAAAAAACE!!!!!"

It's on page 125 of this version:
