Fandom observation

Friendship observation, really. It is bittersweet to reread a story of mine from years ago, look at the comments, and see a compliment from someone who would now not spit on me if they passed me in the street while I was on fire.

I found my old ipod the other day and charged it up just to see what was on it. I found a bunch of old emails from fandom friends who I don't ever talk to anymore. Some of that is platform - they stayed on Facebook and I made DW my primary home. But some of it is that it turned out all we had in common was love of a particular show and once that ended (or one of us drifted) we had nothing to talk about.

Ouch! Yeah, it feels so weird when that happens. I'm like, how did we click so well and yet fall out so badly? That's life, I guess. *sighs*
