So this post is [hopefully] a multimedia extravaganza!
So I've been making my haphazard way through Emmymadeinjapan's back catalogue. I came to the single grain of rice sushi challenge:
and when looking up this practice I came to this amazingly charming and informative article about a restaurant which calls itself the birthplace of the practice. Look at these tiny beauties:

So because I'mridiculous me, I couldn't resist the thought "this would be perfect sushi for a fairy."

Here's the sushi platter by itself because I had so much fun drawing it:

(Yes, those are flower petals on the side -- a good sushi chef customizes the serving to the customer. :D And the hand roll is to
gingicat's credit.)

Date: 2019-03-03 07:57 pm (UTC)Your drawing is even more
adorablekawaii than the actual micro-sushi itself! Of course fish roe works well - just one tiny shiny bead-like fish egg balanced on a grain of rice. But one little flake of fish balances just as well. And the flower petals are a wonderful touch - maybe someone could wrap a whole petal around a morsel of seafood and a grain of rice, for a different kind of hand roll! And I love the charming sushi chef with a flower over one ear (and a chef's toque!), holding the little platter with chopsticks. I love the fact that the fairy herself seems to be of Caucasian extraction (my Italian-American daughter-in-law loves sushi), and her dress is beautiful.Japanese kami aren't exactly fairies, and they're not imagined as being tiny compared to humans. What a marvelous crossover from one culture's fantasies to another!
I admire your imagination!

Date: 2019-03-05 12:26 am (UTC)Remember my picture of fairies and a hobbit and a mermaid at lunch? My idea there was kind of like this one, in that the diners would get food unusual to their element.

I just watched the video again as well as some of her others. I didn't get any errors.
