So, I've drawn some pictures of super heroines. I have a bunch, so I figure I'll post them across the week or however long it takes me.

The problem with posting due to insomnia is that my brain is too fried to write sensible copy. So ask me about these if you like. I'm going to try again to go to sleep.

Coak and Dagger have a lovely thematic chiaroscuro thing going on. I really loved their comics for that, and for a Black hero teamed up in amity with a White one.

So, Starlight is a flying brick with control over light, able to shoot it from her hands, form constructs with it including protective shells around herself, etc. I made her up -- there have been minor heroes named Starlight but not like this one.
Firestar is a Marvel heroine; she used to be part of a Saturday Morning Cartoons trio with Spider-man and Iceman, and I loved her best because , a girl with fire powers! \o/ In this drawing she's pretty young and kind of uncertain of her own strength, but she will kick the bad guy's ass. :D
Cloak and Dagger are a striking duo from Marvel, a White girl with 'hard light' powers (constructs of light) and a Black guy who teleports by swathing himself in a cloak and vanishing. I used to really like their comic in the late 80s (the deliberate striking chiaroscuro, the fight against and I just heard they're getting a Netflix series, so I drew my reminiscence of them.
The Star Sapphire Corps are one of those ideas that started out really sexist but has some good ideas buried inside. They're like Green Lanterns, only pink and powered by 'love'. I mostly like drawing them because, hey, cute women surrounded by pink light! I should draw Dick Grayson as a Star Sapphire, though. He's the kind of guy who totally would be one, and their Stripperiffic(tm) style would fit him.
That was a very fun fifteen minutwes I spent writing this around work!

And thanks all round. :)
I specially love the Star Sapphire's thighs.

Date: 2017-06-19 10:32 pm (UTC)I should have put "flying brick" in quotation makrs -- it's a term to denote a character with a standard set of superpowers -- flight, durability/imnvulnerability, and strength, among others. 2017's Wonder Woman is a flying brick, for instance. Superman is one but also has some other random powers like X-ray and heat vision.
I like the term, not least because it makes me think of a little red brick with a cape, sailing through the air.

Date: 2017-06-19 07:30 pm (UTC)Yeah, the pink halo lets her breathe in space. Have you heard of the Green Lanters? the Star Sapphires are a related group with similar powers, just pink.
