minoanmiss | Yuletide: Reveals and Recommendations

So, I had a really good time this year's Yuletide. I wrote Solace Themselves (The Martian). The prompt I got was "please have Mark help someone, especially Beth and/or Chris," and rarely if ever have I been given a prompt so congruent with my desires.

I was given two awesome stories: I hold With Those Who Favor Fire (Firestarter, my favorite King book) and She Who Saw The Deep (Epic of Gilgamesh) I am awed by how good they are in general and how tailored to me in specific they are. BWEE.

A couple more Yuletide recs out of umpteenjillion I could make:
So everyone has read No Reservations: Narnia (Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations), which is one of the best fanfics in the known universe (if you haven't read it, read it, it will make you happy even if, as we all remember him, it might also make you cry). Its worthy successors this year: The Without Borders: Federation series, Parts Unknown: Bajor and Without Borders: Asgard (which started as commentfic and which people need to go read!).

The story that wins my unofficial prize for This Could Have Been Written For Me Even Though It Wasn't is Hold Me Fast and Fear Me Not (Tam Lin) which is so lush and so well described and so HOT and so very very excellent in all ways.
