Ballot measure results.

MA voted Yes on 3, so we are keeping our law protecting transgender people, and Florida [apparently -- all I've found so far are tweets] voted Yes on 4, to restore voting rights to over a million people with past felony convictions. (I hope now someone can get that poor woman out of jail, the one who got sentenced to 5 years for voting.)

I know these are not everything or even most things but they are both definitely something.

(Currently at about 65% yes, needs 60% to win, the paper is not telling me percentage reporting just now but everyone seems in on its having passed.)

Those two results are downright glowing lanterns, and I say that on a night of marvelous firsts. :)

I'm so glad on the transgender result- A DW friend in that state had a young trans daughter.

As you say, it IS something.

AND the Democrats took back the House! The Senate would have been better, of course, but the House is way better than nothing. They can impeach the bastard, even if the Senate won't convict him. :-)

Me too!

But I keep thinking how when I was pastoring and preached on imprisonment, it turned out not to be controversial, and people came up afterward to tell me about their imprisoned relatives.

So an advantage of decades of farming Prison Country is that there are a lot of voters who aren't flat ignorant.

With the exception of the question on minimum nursing ratios not winning, election day results were almost as good as I had hoped for.

I know this is more than a little OT, but to me The Bright Spot will always bring to mind the stripper bar in Brighton Center back in my Boston college days. And no, I was never in it.
