Written earlier. Should post it before things continue changing.
I had lunch with Mr. RedTed today. And I am so glad.
He's ... okay. He definitely looks like he's been Through something. But
he's healing up and on his feet and doing all right. I'm trying to
encourage him to learn about sous vide cooking (a good way to cook without
any added anything, and thus easy to tailor to dietary restrictions).
If I had time I would try to write a poem about just how brulee-edged
sweetly good it was to sit with him for an hour, especially after so long.
I don't think I could convey my thoughts properly in prose.

In other news PP has been Ostentatiously Ignoring me all week at work. It
makes my shoulderblades prickle, feeling someone who hates me sitting
behind me for all these hours. How many shifts is he going to work? And
why are they all on my shift? But/and I hope he hears it every time
someone compliments me on how smiling and helpful and kind I am.

A man, incensed over the women-only screenings of Wonder Woman held
in Austin, TX, wrote a letter to Austin's mayor, and got pretty much the
reply he deserved. My reaction was 80% hilarity and 20% dismay at the
millions of my fellow Americans who agree with this nimnul. OTOH, I tend
to assume that people I disagree with have lots of support and people I
agree with have very little. Maybe I should be more optimistic.

As a cheerful bookend, another coworker proposed to his now-fiance this weekend and has been talking about it for two nights straight. It's adorable to witness his happiness.

Date: 2017-06-02 10:37 am (UTC)I'm assuming he's on an ultra-low-sodium diet. When my daughter-in-law's father had heart surgery, I went out of my way to make my usual Christmas desserts as low-sodium as possible. I was dismayed to find that there are many common ingredients that contain a fair amount of sodium naturally, even before you add anything. Eggs and dairy products are surprisingly high in sodium. (Here's a fairly comprehensive list.)
