I know I shouldn't grade myself (thank you for reminding me) but I can definitely give myself points: people enjoyed the sandwiches and the party food, woot woot! With all thanks to S for labeling the sorrel bottles for me and to WD for getting chips to go with the dip. I need to write down that edamame hummus recipe.
C&A's garden is BEAUTIFUL. I want to go back with a book and just sit there for a bit. And it was lovely to see them and other people and new people as well. Afterwards WD and I went back and finished tthis cute spy miniseries we watched, called _Black Doves_. Go Keira Knightley go!
So last night was lovely. *beams*
(then of course I read the news ahahaha *sob*)

Herby Edamame Hummus
Date: 2025-06-03 01:12 am (UTC)1-2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp chinese cooking wine
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp water
1 heaping tbsp garlic-ginger paste
2 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 cup tahini
1-2 tbsp olive, grapeseed, or avocado oil
1 tsp hot saucc
1 hot pepper (anything from anaheim to habanero), seeded and chopped
2 tbsp chopped parsley
2 tbsp chopped chives
2 tbsp chopped dill
Put edamame and garlic cloves and salt in a 2 quart saucepan. Cover with 1 quart cold water. Bring to a boil and simmer for ten minutes. Drain and rinse.
In large bowl whisk white pepper, soy sauce, wine, vinegar, and water.
Place edamame in a food processor. Chop till fine. Add some of the mixed seasoning liquid if needed. Puree into a rough paste with some texture left. Scrape into the large bowl with the remaining seasoning liquid. Add tahini, ginger-garlic paste and oils and whisk vigorously until combined. Taste for seasoning: add more if desired. Adjust texture with more water if desired.
