I've been thinking about developing a candy I can send to my friends. It would keep well, travel well, be customizable, be pretty...

Look at this. Marshmallow nougat with crispy things mixed in.

It fits all my criteria! Unfortunately, I doubt this will ship well in hot months, but maybe I can do a couple of runs in May and then start again in October.

I can't wait to make flower petal candy with this method!

That reminds me that I haven’t made rocky road candy (melted chocolate with mini marshmallows and walnut pieces mixed in, then dropped by spoonfuls onto parchment and allowed to cool) in ages!

Don't waste your time separating eggs. You can get a quart container of egg whites, already separated for you, in most supermarkets, next to the eggs - people like to make cholesterol-free omelets with only whites, for the protein. I use these whites for my angel food cakes and pavlovas.

Well, it looks as if it's made with packaged mini-marshmallows, not basic egg whites. Well, try making a test batch with different mix-ins to see how it works.
