minoanmiss: Naked young fisherman with his catch (Minoan Fisherman)

My first order of poems came on too-thin paper so I figured I'd send them in envelopes and sent another order for one printing on heavier cardstock.

They sent me four printings.

I know SOMEONE out there must be able to use a handful of bright little poem cards. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do with these? Please help me make someone's day!

OMNISCIENCE

Knowing what
thou knowest not
is in a sense
omniscience.

Maybe just leave them in random spots like on grocery store or library shelves?

I saw at my library substantial bookmarks about Poetry Month, and on the back, each had a different short poem :-)

Little free libraries? Depending on size and shape, you could shove them into each book as a bookmark?

Ooh, nice! Pick a book from the LFL and find a nice surprise inside!

"Nature, it seems,
is the popular name
for milliards and milliards and milliards
of particles playing their infinite game
of billiards and billiards and billiards."

Piet Hein (I love Grooks!)

"Concerning the bees and the flowers,
In their beautiful natural bowes,
YOu can tell at a glance
That their ways of romance
Haven't any resemblance to ours."

Pre-fucking-cisely. Hein was also a mathematician.

Treats for patients in need of reassurance?

(And I’m in awe of Piet Hein’s ability to be his own mutual translator, writing his Grooks in parallel in his native Danish and English—and achieving the same crunchy bite-size aphoristic concision and structural elegance in both.)
