There's another video of some guy having two large steel spheres hanging on strings, and he drapes a piece of paper over one ball and lets the other ball swing so it bangs hard against the paper. And the impact point shows a burn mark. He explains that the mass of the moving ball gives it a great amount of kinetic energy when it swings, and at the point where the two balls collide that kinetic energy gets converted to heat and scorches the paper.
