More medical TMI

WD is wonderful. It helped a lot to know I was going to see him when I was done.

The staff at the Breast Center were all awesome, once I got there. This is the part which professionally offended me: Tufts sent me to Melrose Wakefield's Breast Center for the biopsy. My equivalent person at Tufts told me I was going to Melrose Wakefield and did NOT tell me I was going to a facility off the main hospital campus (in fact a facility in a neighboring bloody town). This is why they instructed me to think of things from the patient's POV. Did anyone tell them that?

Anyway, I have dangled my boob through a hole, had it squeezed and punctured and irradiated, and now have a bra holding a bag of frozen veggies to my much abused breast. I am going to lie down for awhile, wearing a bra in bed. Living in the future is amazing.

Wrap a washcloth or small towel around the bag of frozen veggies to avoid damaging your skin.

And it seems as if your experiences as a patient have improved your ability to do your job, by teaching you how important it is to think of the procedure from the patient's point of view.

Doing okay? You’ve been through a lot.

(And I know what it’s like to be directed to the wrong facility; your admirable capacity to learn and build empathy through your unpleasant experiences doesn’t mean you ought to have had them.)

It's fun when they say 'don't move' like you're going to detach your boob and leave!

*squishes you* ♥

I'm just glad I was able to help relatively easily and you weren't out extra costs of a Lyft based on having gone to the wrong place, or wasting hours on public transport.

I hope your boob is less ouchy.

One side effect of knowing how something should be done is the fact that you get even more annoyed when it's done wrong than you would have otherwise been.
