Something I hate: Patriarchy, of course. Especially watching it join up with other bigotries into a gundam of oppression stomping across the USA.

Something I love: Plantains! Especially fried. The riper the better!

Somewhere I have been: Philadelphia, PA. I have family there. I remember it fondly largely because of them. I mean, it's a nifty city, but I am fond of that branch of my family.

Somewhere I would like to go: Provence, France. It's warm and known for splendid food. Paris sounds too much like NYC to me.

Someone I know: from filking and astronomy, Peter Alway aka [profile] peteralway.

Best Movie: PACIFIC RIM.

If you'd like to play ask me for a letter!

I love these answers (and I also love Philly - both as a city and because many of my loved ones are there).

I'll take a letter!

Something I hate: arthritis, which has considerably circumscribed my life; merely cutting my toenails has become an exercise in endurance, and the floor is a sticky trap.

Something I love: agency, a precious commodity which has been in restricted supply throughout my life for a variety of reasons I won’t bore you with.

Somewhere I’ve been: I’ve been through Atlanta on numerous occasions—down I-75 on family vacations before the bypass was constructed (as my father loudly sympathized with General Sherman), down the bypass thereafter, and to transfer at the airport to and from Florida (the gilded Georgia State Capitol Dome is a thing of wonder in the light of dawn: And lo, the Hunter of the East has caught/The Sultan’s Turret in a Noose of Light.)

Somewhere I’d like to go: Austria, ideally Vienna, to wander unherded among the museums and concert halls and cafés.

Someone I know: if [profile] peteralway is the brother of the late filker, storyteller, and chimera enthusiast Dave Alway, we may have met IRL.

Best movie: Airplane!
Also The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai (although you really need the novelization to get some context for what the razzlefrazz is going on. There are viewers who prefer to experience the movie as a succession of zany non sequiturs, though.)
Both 1990’s Addams Family movies—-Wednesday’s override of the Camp Chippewa Thanksgiving play remains a thing of beauty.

Provence is AMAZING. I visited for just a few days, but it was magical, and I would love to spend more time there if I'm ever able to. (Take me with youuuu T__T )

Hmm... It was almost a decade ago. But I do recall having wonderful pasta with a wide variety of mushrooms, also seafood pasta - I was pretty much in pasta heaven during that entire Mediterranean trip! *g* Also, lots of cheeses. I didn't imbibe any alcohol during our stay there, but the rest of my party had a blast with the wines. *g*

YAY PAC RIM ooo Provence. (I liked Paris OK, but I'd kind of want to dip through it and then explore somewhere else more thoroughly.)

So, yes, give unto me a letter?

In case you haven't read it already, there's a wonderful speculative fiction book by Guy Gavriel Kay set in that the Provence area, Ysabel, which includes interesting ideas of cycles of history.

I'm happy to do a letter if you want to give me one.

Philly is great! Paris is a lot smellier than New York.

And I'd be happy to play.

With you on thinking hopefully of travel to Provence, less just the food than the Roman remnants. And also, my one glancing acquaintance with Paris did make it seem too much like NYC.
