US politics again.

Has anyone asked any Trump voters when they voted for Elon Musk?

There was a FOAF I surfed onto whom I saw ranting about Harris not being properly primaried etc. I killfiled them and went on my way but now I'm a little sorry -- I want to ask them if they mind whatsoever Musk's ascendancy, just to see what justifications they would give. Still, I'm not so curious as to go dig them out of my killfile.

I try not to have conversations with anyone who supported the Felon-In-Chief, because it's hard to have any sort of rational discussion with fanatical cultists. And Trump and Musk both hate being teased about their relative positions of power.

On r/LeopardsAteMyFace I’ve seen a lot of MAGAts being livid about Elon’s proposal to bring more international workers in and Trump backing it, including one who said bitterly, “Trump is everything the leftists told us he was.”

I don't want to ask Trump voters anything. I want them to go away. Keep the immigrants, let the Trump voters go away. A million times better. Not that this will ever happen voluntarily nor that I'd want it done involuntarily. But it's what I'd like.

It was a joy for me too. I’d far rather that people listen to us _before_ voting, but if I can’t have that, I’ll take the schadenfreude of seeing them realize they’ve fucked around and now they’re finding out.

As I’ve told my kids throughout their lives, sometimes all you get in a rough situation is whatever silver linings you can eke out of it, so enjoy those as much as you can.

I’d say the pleasure of schadenfreude certainly qualifies for that principle!
