(I will properly reply to... a bunch of posts, soon.)

This is why I'm doing this project:

When I Have Passed Away

When I have passed away and am forgotten,
And no one living can recall my face,
When under alien sod my bones lie rotten
With not a tree or stone to mark the place;

Perchance a pensive youth, with passion burning,
For olden verse that smacks of love and wine,
The musty pages of old volumes turning,
May light upon a little song of mine,

And he may softly hum the tune and wonder
Who wrote the verses in the long ago;
Or he may sit him down awhile to ponder
Upon the simple words that touch him so.

I really like the way your illustration depicts the two different generations. And the poem's sentiment - I would hope that, when *I* am gone, folks can still appreciate my lyrics and not just say good riddance to that quirky (with a capital Q) old filker.

I like your Poetry Month project because I don't really know poetry at all. I don't know where to start, (and often just pass the library's poetry section by on my way to novels and comics), but your posts arrive easily to my Reading page and are accompanied by an illustration, so I get to widen my horizons without too much effort :D
This especially was a good poem with a great sentiment, and it's fun to see you draw dudes for a change! (Heehee, kids these days with their iPhones!)

Oh, the pictures are delightful! The "old guy" is unquestionably from a French background - a New Orleans dandy, perhaps - and constrasts so marvelously with the teenager with the smartphone :-)
