Jimmy Carter votes for Kamala Harris in 2024 election after milestone 100th birthday

Early Voting starts this weekend in my town. Should I keep waiting for my ballot to arrive or should I just go vote early and destroy the ballot when I get it? I can't vote Election Day because I have some heavy going dental work scheduled that day.

I was worried about voting. I’m a mail-in voter with an APO in the UK who is in Colorado for the month of October. So I was reckoning to have my docket of propositions and judicial retentions in my hand and toddle in to vote early. But lo! in Colorado we can vote online! And my deed is done.

But I still put out a Penzey’s Vote November 5th sign today, with Lisa’s permission.

I would think you should have gotten your ballot by now. I'd be asking questions. I dropped mine off at my local town hall's drop box on Sunday.

if the ballot should have arrived, but hasn't, and if you have time to stand on line this weekend, you might go ahead and vote in person, then destroy the mail-in when it arrives.

except, how easy is it to get a replacement/provisional ballot when you just show up? you may want to research that - and follow up with the elections office about your missing ballot if you have time

Oregon has a nifty system whereby you sign up, then they'll notify you when the ballot was mailed (mine was today) and when they receive it once you mail it back. does MA have such a system; if so, I'd suggest signing up for the peace of mind

Go ahead and vote in person. I just looked at the state website, which says that you can vote in person as long as you haven't returned your absentee ballot.

I haven't received my absentee ballot either, and am considering voting early in person, as soon as I figure out how I want to vote on the first two ballot questions (auditing the legislature, and MCAS requirement for high school graduation). If my ballot arrives before then, I will probably ask Adrian or Cattitude to put it in a drop box for me, because I don't want to trust it to the post office. Boston has a couple of dozen ballot drop boxes, most of them outside library branches.

You should vote by mail BECAUSE you won't be able to vote in person for a medical reason. That's why they're doing voting by mail - so people with transportation issues or mobility problems can participate in elections. Voting is so important it has to be available to ALL citizens.

So *VOTE!*

Early voting (in person, not by mail) is also voting.

My suggestion is to avoid the mail-in ballot if you can, because the mail has been incredibly unreliable lately, and this way you know your vote has made it in.

Many towns in my area have ballot drop=off boxes at their City Hall or Police HQ. And there are ways to track whether your ballot was received and logged.

I just have a big button that says VOTE pinned to the strap of my shoulder bag for all the world to see.
As Willie Nelson sang, "If you don't like who's in there, vote 'em out! The biggest gun we've got is called the ballot box - if you don't like who' s in there, vote 'em out and vote some new ones in!"

In your place I'd vote early, and then hang on to the ballot rather than destroying it. And then if Kamala wins I would fill it out and frame it.
