I think we’re going to continue to have problems as long as lying and incessant lying and insisting that it’s disequitable to treat lies as lies are no-foul.

Probably an even deeper issue: granting ultimate approval authority to A [conservative Of Course] Daddy Voice:

1. Stern assertions should not carry extra weight as condemnations, and they shouldn’t be treated as policy programs.

2. More GOP/conservative/rightwing keeps claiming that they represent sanity, morality, and “better economics”— and that everyone knows this. This needs to be called out and disqualified.

3. You do not in ordinary life get to avoid being responsible for following laws because you haven’t yet been convinced by your victims that you were wrong. That is what classing interminable Questioning of the 2020 Election is.

The opinion gal who wants JD Vance's vision for America clearly hasn't researched much of his prior statements. Wonder how she'll feel about losing the vote?

stranger: Kamala Harris, VOTE (Vote Harris)

As far as audience reception, I'd call it a toss-up, as both political wings feel they can claim a win but not a huge win. As far as legit arguments, well, I see a distinct lack for Vance and only minor quibbles with one of Walz's. I hear (elsewhere) that the point of the debate was for each candidate to project an appealing personality toward the audience and hope it landed. Have you seen Electoral Vote, a discussion website with a lot of sane commentary?

I don't really feel like Walz hit his stride until about 10:15 ET. Vance was confident and calm, I'll give him that, but I don't get why people keep saying he won. He didn't have any big reveals, he didn't have any big ideas, he didn't point to any accomplishments he's had in Congress. He wasn't compelling or engaging and he got boring when he attacked Harris on immigration over and over ad nauseum.

Thing is, you can't say either of them won because I don't think they were playing the same game in the same ballpark, just like with Trump & Harris.

I heard one commenter say, “JD Vance is a much better liar than Donald Trump.” That’s about his only skill.
