I feel like my brain would start leaking out my ears after listening to J.D. Vance talk for more than about a minute and a half. Especially since there's going to be no real-time fact-checking during the debate, so he can spout whatever nonsense he likes and no one will cut him off.

that would be one of the several reasons I didn't watch, yeah. CBS took EXACTLY the wrong lesson from the first debate (or maybe the "right" one -- who owns them again?)

I think the media just wants a clown show in the White House because it sells clicks. Someone quietly getting business done doesn't sell clicks and ad revenue.

This. And I keep wondering how many newspapers they think they can sell after all the newsrooms get political officers installed to monitor them, or after the major news cities are nuclearbombed off the map.

So I'm hearing. "You said you wouldn't fact-check!" after a moderator said that the Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio had LEGAL status in the US.

I've not heard the clip outright, only read about it, but my mental audio defaults that exchange to a whiny J.D. snotnose schoolboy Vance closing in on wetting his metaphorical J.D. pants.
