Today a woman with ADHD called (relevant to her medical care in several ways) and we talked for about 20 minutes about the patient registration process. At the end she said, "Thank you, this has been so helpful!"

Encouragingly[TM] I said, "You're welcome! And when you call back and get one of my colleagues they'll be helpful too because we are here to help!"

And she said, "Oh that is such a blessing" in such a radiant voice, and hung up.

Today was mostly a Monday, with an outage in the middle, but moments like that are why I really appreciate this job.

I keep saying, we as individuals may not be able to save the world but we can do what we can to make our corner of the world suck a little less. Help someone, be kind to someone, build someone up, compliment someone. Choose to do the right thing, the ethical thing, the good thing. And if we all do that, guess what happens.

Unlike your other similar jobs, this one seems to be trying hard to make their routines as easy as possible for the patients. This increases compliance, and they get better faster.
