It looked like today and tomorrow swapped weather predictions, so I packed up a bag of Things Someone Else Could Use (ill-fitting newbought shoes, a jacket I hate, and some food) and set out for the Kiosk of Things People Can Use in my former neighborhood. I also bought a few things at the Japanese store near there. But then the rain blew in, so I gave up on Errand #3 and went home.

On the way some rainbows emerged (3 or 4, one main one and at least 2 secondaries) and I gasped on spotting them and frightened my poor driver. ahahahaha I am ridiculous.

You are not ridiculous. *hugs*

I mean, you have seen the "Double rainbow guy" video, right? I don't think he's ridiculous either. (RIP.)

I'm so glad you were rewarded with rainbows! I hope the driver was pleased with them eventually. P.

It seems as if it's going to start snowing Monday afternoon and keep snowing until Tuesday morning. I remember sitting in my aunt's house in Chelsea (which was on a hillside overlooking one of the main highways) seeing chevron-formations of snowplows blasting along keeping the pavement so free of ice and snow you could walk on it barefoot, and wondering why the snowplows in New York didn't do that. I hope they're still doing as good a job keeping the Boston area safe for drivers. And wear trousers to work if you're allowed to, or at least put tights and warm knee socks between skirt-hem and shoe-tops.

I'm glad you got to see rainbows - even if you had to endure some rain before they appeared.

I hate snow if I need to get somewhere by car. But I love it to look at it! And how many of you reading this are familiar with the sound of falling snow. It's a sort of a high-pitched, tinkling chiming sound, like glass windchimes heard from very far away.

Every rainbow merits a gasp, just as it would be appropriate for every baby, not just the future Buddha, to proclaim, "I am the wonder of the world!"

:)

And you are not ridiculous...on the contrary, you have an artist's appreciation for beauty.

I remember a few years ago cycling along the shared-use path alongside a busy road in Cambridge, at the tail end of a shower, and the student-type guy walking a bit ahead of me exclaimed "DOUBLE RAINBOW" with such joy and wonder that it stayed with me for the rest of the afternoon (and of course, the memory comes back now and again like now).
