I have now officially lost count of the number of times Black Panther has made me cry with happiness, including my first viewing.

Tonight's article that made me cry:

I should go find some of the other articles, etc, and just make a big pile while sobbing ecstatically.

(IT's going to take me awhile to write my review. The movie has more layers than a croissant and I loved them all.)

My husband went along with me to Wonder Woman and Justice League because he knew I'd enjoy them, not because he had any particular interest. When I said I'd like to see Black Panther, he said, "Okay, go ahead and order tickets." I read a whole bunch of stuff about the movie in the last couple of days, and I discovered that they incorporate a lot of reasonably authentic African music in the soundtrack. My husband happens to be very fond of African music :-D

I really want to see all the bookmarks, I'm not seeing it til this weekend!

The last thing I saw was pictures of a troop of little girls cosplaying as the Dora Milaje, and they were so adorable and I teared up.

\o/

also...

ETA: Jim C Hines instead of a review posted a lot of links to stuff explaining the history and costumes and so forth. Fascinating stuff. I think he was deliberately trying to just link to posts by African people or black people in the US instead of pontificating himself.

I went and saw the movie last Friday, when it first came out. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Looking forward to hearing what you think!
