I've had very good fortune with movers this move. Trash Can Willy's cleared out my bedroom, including but not limited to the ancient and terrifying futons, and their guy J (same name as J the teen) is a hilarious and personable dude.

Which was good, because though I arrived on time and my Lyft driver was quite skillful. I felt carsick for probably the first time ever, ugh. Maybe something I ate is fighting back. Still, everything got sorted and the nausea didn't win. TL also arrived on time and supervised, and also gave me a few items, so I think I am probably completely moved out at this point.

Now to let the tummy meds kick in and then get to the twin tasks of unpacking and jobhunting.

I find that car sickness is opften helped with a bubbly drink (sprite? ginger ale?) and some time in fresh air. Even an open window can help. Feel better friend!

One of the things I handed to MM today is a screw-top insulated coffee mug - she saw it when I was cleaning out the cabinets and said you could use it. Sadly, it took *days* for the lid to dry out after I ran it through the dishwasher, or I would have given it to you earlier.

Don't ever read or try to focus on a screen in a moving vehicle.

This. I am currently looking for a new or new-ish vehicle and it's annoying how many cars have a video game console for controlling everything.

Poor design. You have to take more of your attention away from the road and the controls to operate a touch screen.

I just know that if I try to read, or look at a map or a device, while the vehicle is moving, it'll tumble my gyros in seconds. Taking ginger capsules or eating some ginger just before leaving will prevent this.

You’ve done a magnificent job with this whole moving business and handling life! I am so proud of you and happy for you! The worst part is behind you now and you’ve rocked this! Remember this when the next snags hit you. Movinh in and job hunting isn't a piece of cake, but it’s downhill form what you’ve just been through, so I hope you get some time to celebrate a life job well done!
