As I continue contemplating this journal

I still haven't decided how I'm going to use this -- I don't think I want a direct clone of any of my LJ journals. Maybe a sort of minimal mashup. I may begin crossposting fanfic eventually, possibly only whatever fic I write for communities and Porn Battles here.

But it strikes me that I treated this laptop the same way -- for some time after I was given it I hardly used it, because I was settled on the computer I currently had. Gradually I moved many things over, and now it's my everyday computer. So, I'll see when and how I start using this journal more; there really is no rush.

(OTOH, if I read one more anti-Dreamwidth post on LJ, I may just entirely decamp to here out of a desire to keep my blood pressure down.)

I quite like my lj flist, but, well, most of the people I have a vested interest in reading me either are over here or aren't posting much anyway. And DW is so much easier for me to *read*; no ads, no snap preview...

My only concern with leaving LJ altogether is the several good friends who have permanent accounts over there and don't want to leave.

That's part of why I'm cloning my DW over there, but forcing people who want to comment to come here.

I have no idea why I can't get your posts to show up on my reading page. Maybe it goes by a monthly thing rather than a regular whatever.

And I'm with you on not knowing what to use this for, I figure whatever you want! Double-posting from el-jay, hilarious new things, whatever the wind takes you.
