Favourite song right now? "Starlight" originally by Muse, and I'm collecting covers. I don't know why I love this song so much; it just shimmers in my mind.

What are you reading right now? A cookbook of old-style New England cooking, compiled in 1947. It's very relaxing and informative, and presents a fascinating moment in American food history before a lot of the developments of the latter half of the 1900's.

~~Three~~ Four things that are super-annoying at the moment?
1) I have my period. Enough said.
2) My hair is doing something weird and I'm not sure if I should cut it or grow it.
3) My small roommates are being extra super duper stubborn.
4) My young coworker who thinks she knows everyone's job well enough to point out exactly what we're supposedly doing wrong and is using the power of her new promotion to be extremely poky and interfering.

Three random facts about yourself?
1) I never knew my true hair texture until I was 30.
2) I love the number 4 and multiples thereof.
3) I really love rosehips, quinces, and some other lesser known edible members of the rose family.

What was your first ship?
My father's friend's fishing boat. OH. Huh. Probably Vanyel/Bard-boy-from-off-the-streets-whatever-his-face-was. Or maybe Alexis/Lysias.

One thing that scares you?
My life feels like it rests on such fragile scaffolding; I worry a lot about any piece breaking and the whole assemblage crashing down to leave me broke and homeless or in jail.

Three things you wish you could be:
1) A respectable career worker rather than having a fairly despised pink collar job.
2) Thinner, but not enough to fight through all my issues about dieting and to deprive myself of two of my great joys, cooking and, well, eating.
3) Less anxious about many things.

Two things you're excited for this year?
1) The Winter Holiday Season. I love that time of year.

Your favorite ice cream flavour?
Recently, Cinnamon Buns from Ben & Jerry's. Cinnamon cookie dough in caramel ice cream, yummerz.

Guiltiest pleasure movie?
Out of Sight. Why do I love that ridiculous crime caper with its semistereotypical villains? But Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney somehow light up the screen. I've always wanted a story where Jack shows up on Karen's doorstep every so often. (Maybe I'll write a movie AU with Jim as Jack and Bones, either Leonard or Lenora, as Karen).

What movie have you seen the most? I have no idea, so I'm replacing this with A movie, book, album, TV show, etc you want to recommend A World of Dumplings by Brian Yarvin, the cookbook I reread last. It's just so charming, and I love the universality and diversity of dumplings.

What is seriously awesome?

dira. I recently binged on rereading her fic, and oh, my word. The places her stories take me to.

Worst movie you've ever seen? Weekend at Bernie's. What the fuck? How did that ever get made?

Best way to relax? Six or eight orgasms, a fun round of pillow talk, and a good night's sleep.

Favourite quotes/lyric? Oh, I have lots of favorites, but one is "The one thing you can't trade for your heart's desire is your heart." from Bujold's Memory. Another is "There are nine and sixty ways of constructing tribal lays and every single one of them is right" from Kipling's "In the Neolithic Age"

Fall for beauty, summer because I work in a school so it's the quiet period.

The Glee compilation. I don't watch the show but I do love (and share) that wide-open earnest sort of singing.
